Whilst watching a past round of the ADGP Road King rounds at Calder Park Raceway.
I spotted a vehicle which screamed out to the *E7* owner in me.
The vehicle I am talking about was a fridge white, tough as nails Toyota AE71 Corolla. Seeing a tough-looking Corolla is enough, as I got closer it was clear there was much more to this beast than just wide wheels and an aggressive stance.
The wheel choice consists of American Racing AR172 BAJA’s in a sizing of 15×8 -19 fronts and a staggering 15×10 -43 rears, A very different and extreme set of wheels for a car of this size and style.
The side exit exhaust gives the game away.
After circling around I noticed the front-mount intercooler and grille-mounted oil cooler (fantastic).
Then I noticed the turbo and 20V 4A-GE. This is my kind of ride (spec sheet at bottom of article).
Can’t go past a nice set of quad lights for the E7 series corolla’s, and with the oil cooler lines running through the high beam bucket, it was straight up Mother Land.
The interior was spartan with nothing but the essentials to get loose and keep the built engine in check. Nardi Steering wheel, Sheet metal gauge surround and bucket seat accompany the full cage.
This built 7A-GE (combination of 4A-GE and 7A-FE parts) is easily mistaken for a 20V 4A-GE, but that would be a serious mistake.
Giving this engine any less than the necessary credit would be a crime for such a work of art.
Rolla Life. The perfect boosted *E7* Drifter (in my opinion), Staying true to the marque and getting great results.
